2003 was the first time I had ever heard of “buying real estate subject-to.” This was after being an investor for over 10 years.
I heard someone mention it as a concept and I was hooked on the idea! I did some research and found 2 people who were teaching it with recommendations that I trusted. One of them was William Tingle.
I bought William’s “course” which was basically a notebook (at the time) and it was less than $250. I was BLOWN AWAY by how thorough it was and by how he left NO STONE UNTURNED. It was very unusual since, at the time, most courses were costing $3500 + and left a lot of holes in the education so they could sell you coaching. William’s course was thorough, complete and contained everything I needed.
I began adding subject-to marketing to my monthly actions and the rest is history. 16+ years later and I’ve bought over 200 houses “subject-to” the existing financing. It’s a beautiful way to buy!!!
